About Us
Purple Sense's mission is to provide a safe space for people with autism spectrum disorder by providing FREE art therapy lessons with trained professionals. Why Purple? By looking at the connectivity pathways under a functional MRI, people with autism have both hyperconnectivity, which is indicated by red, and hypoconnectivity, which is indicated by blue. With a little bit of color theory, red and blue make purple. Art therapy aims to balance the overactive and underactive areas in the brain, lessening symptoms and improving overall neural connectivity.

Our leading team consists of four high school students whose passion is to help others. Purple Sense is an organization based in Troy, Michigan, and we currently have branches across the US and internationally, including Canada, China, Thailand, and Romania. Our App, Purple Senses, tracks emotions, responses, attendance and summarizes the data, giving us an idea of how to help. We are currently in a partnership with True Love for Hope, a special needs program based in Georgia, and we hope to expand our passion.
